Bosch Power Tools
Design management for cloud product portfolio, SaaS and IoT experiences
About
I have spent more than 17 years shaping digital products, services and systems across UX strategy, product design, design leadership, SaaS, IoT and AI-assisted workflows.
Since 2021, I have been part of Robert Bosch Power Tools GmbH, where I lead design management for the cloud product portfolio. Today, I focus on SaaS and IoT experiences, international UX practice and how AI, agents and agentic workflows can support research, critique, prototyping and better product decisions.

Bringing IT to the next level
Worked with Alex on different teams
In my work with Alex over the last couple of years he was always the go-to person for anything customer related. He has a great focus on customer needs and knows how to translate it into a modern and enticing product and service design. His motivation of other team members really brought design and coding to the next level, which resulted in faster turnaround times for new features with full support of internal measures and processes. I would love to work with him again in any of my future projects.

Managed Alex directly
Alex Gurgulescu worked as an internal Senior UX/UI Designer for many of my teams at Daimler Fleetboard GmbH and Daimler Truck AG for several years. He took a leading role in making sure that the usability and design of Fleetboard's overall product was coherent. He also proactively coached less experienced designers and frequently coordinated our design guild. In a critical situation he also took over the ProductOwner role for our design system team. In addition to his well above average technical qualifications, Alex has very strong communication skills. He thus successfully transfers his own enthusiasm to the teams and also to critical users and stakeholders.
IBM
Worked with Alex on the same team
Alex and I have worked together on a suite of iOS native apps for one of our clients. He has an insatiable curiosity to understand how things work under the hood and how it might impact the user's experience. I always enjoyed our UX-developer debates and their outcomes and consider his skills a priceless addition to any project. He will enrich the solution with bird's-eye must-haves like having a clear vision and also detailed instructions which make a developer's life easier (and fun). I miss working with him and hope our professional paths meet again. Godspeed, my friend!

Alex is a passionate designer, always researching creative ideas to provide the best options to the client. He studies everything in-depth, ensuring successful delivery of challenging projects through involvement and dedication. His passion for UI/UX and design is visible in the quality of work he provides. I was fortunate enough to participate in one of his Design Thinking workshops at IBM and the coach role fits him like a glove, always keen on teaching others! I'll miss working together and wish him all the best!
Director of Product Design at Frontify

Alex is a really structured guy and he knows what he is talking about. It was a blessing taking over Alex his project. His clear thinking and his eye for the smallest UX details made it easy to take over his project. Alex is easy going but most importantly a great guy to hang out with.

Alex is not only one of the most talented designers I've met at IBM, but also a person who can put his visions rapidly on paper and produce concepts that excite the client and his team. He's taught me a lot about simplicity and an effortless approach to achieving great results in terms of products and services. Wherever he goes, he brings joy to the room and his passion is simply contagious! It is a blast to work with him.
Procurement Manager, Device-as-a-Service at NTT DATA
Worked with Alex at different companies
Alex has a great way of bringing up great ideas on the spot, all creative and appropriate. It's easy to spark his interest and get his buy-in as soon as you give him a seed to expand to a grand tree. Don't like the tree? No problem, from the same seed, Alex can grow you several others, just as grand, and he won't stop until his tree will fit your stated requirements. He appreciates your feedback and builds from the bricks you throw at him a nice pot for his creative tree. Growing, alive, yet contained. He also does a great job of mixing both of his creative and analytical sides into a mythical chameleon. During the project I have entrusted him, I have seen him focused on delivery, with great attention to details, going to great lengths in order to provide a complete service, adding details I have not mentioned, but which I do appreciate. It's this ability of his to switch sides of the brain in charge with different functions that serves him well both in a formal corporate environment and in a marketing creating agency. I usually don't get carried away in describing people with metaphors, but this is exactly the effect Alex has on people: he fuels their imagination and inspires them to see things that are yet to be created. With Alex, get ready to become a visionary!
